Gateway to University Honors

This last semester I took the class, Gateway to University Honors. Every Monday morning at around 9:05 I was in Swift with many other first year honors students to learn all the ins and outs of the honors program here at UC. Now that this class has come to an end, I know about the different types of experiences I can do and I understand the different thematic areas.

I decided to do this experience because I felt like the honors program would be an interesting thing to do in college and this class was the leaping off point for the honors program. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect out of this class. My immediate thoughts about it were that it would be extremely lecture based with very little involvement because that is what I am used to for classes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the class was very engaging and hands on. I enjoyed all the group discussions as well.

This experience was meaningful to me because it has prepared me to make the most of my honors experiences during my time here at uc. This class has also prepared me to write the proposals for other experiences that I will want to do in the future.
